Blogs are new and inventive resources that we can utilize within our classrooms. As an educator, we can not only use it to post and comment on post. But, we can also can post information to parents, guardians, or other faculty. By consistently posting, it will keep students, parents/guardians, and faculty up to date on school events, due dates, big projects, school holiday-party days, and other school related information. In addition, my students will be able to communicate fluently through the internet. For instance, students can post discussions or written assignments to the blog and comment on their peers posts. Not only that, this gives children opportunities to give peers construction feedback on their peer's work. Plus, as a special education teacher I plan on having CBI (Community Based Instruction) . This means that my students will go out into the community and learn life/adaptive skills . These skills will better prepare them for their future! So, another positive way to use a blog is to post photos and videos to the blog for my students families and friends. All in all, blogs are easy, eco-friendly and a positive way to document my students educational experience. |
